Dancing Days Look Inside Back to Books I don’t take my characters from real life but I do take my settings.  Wicklow, Dublin, London and Kenya all feature in Dancing Days and are all places where I've spent time.   Spanning seven decades, Dancing Days is the story of the live and loves of Ana. We first meet Ana when she is a young girl – fresh, tremendously warm, naughty and full of fun. The novel follows the eventful course of her life, a life that has more ups and downs than most, a life that includes the good fortune of having loved and been loved twice, and the tragedy of losing both loves.   At the end of the book, Ana is still fresh, warm, naughty, and fun so, when the opportunity to love again presents itself, do we really have to ask if she’s up to taking it?
